Ignition Issue?
Okay, i recently bought a 1971 f100 which had a 302 engine and a c4 auto trans. i took the 302 out and put a 351 cleveland in with a c4. yesterday i finally got everything hooked up like exhaust wiring drive shaft etc. when i got into the truck to start it for the first time i turned the key and nothing happened. well we got the test light out and tested some connections. i had power to my coil while the key was in the "run" position. we switched out the solenoid and still nothing. a friend of mine jumped the solenoid and the truck started fine. i cannot figure out what the problem is and i really need to fix it fast because this was going to be my daily driver. any help would be greatly appreciated and if more information is needed please let me know. thanks!

Re: Ignition Issue?
my first thought is neutral safety switch on the bottom of the column. maybe the tang broke off or it could be out of adjustment with the new shift rod for the c4. but it could be the ignition switch too.
