Wont shut off with ign switch??

My 69 F250 sometimes wont turn off when I turn the ign switch to the off position...is it a simple fix or do i need a new one?

it needs a different one.

Sounds like you need a new ignition switch and it is an easy fix. :2cents:

do i have blade or bullet terminals?

69 would have bullets. but make sure before you just buy one. i actaully had a harness froma 69 that had blades for the switch.

my 67 f100 does the same thing but it's all the time, Ive changed the ignition switch and nothing changes. I have to block the tires and pop the clutch to kill it.

1967 f100 swb, 240-6, 3.03 3-spd. on the tree

sometimes even new stuff canbe bad. but if it was doing it before you put the new switch in then it could be crossed wiriing. or the plug is melted and letting wires touch.

no plug for the switch, ive had a universal and a reman switch in it so far. two solenoids too. all of the connections are solid and i've triple checked my diagram> I think im going to go ahead and rebuild the starting/charging system if i cant find the source soon, thank you for the info, very much appreciated

here is a wild guess. unplug the voltage regulator . and then see if it will shut off on its own.
