GPS controlled Speedo

Post by FormerMarine1981 »

I found these on another Forum I am a member of and thought a lot of people here would be interested in them. Does anyone have any experience with these?

No experience, never even heard of them, but that is cool. One question that comes to mine is possible Odometer issues if you ever try to sell the vehicle and that is the only odometer. Would be pretty easy to turn it off and travel with out it counting the miles.

True but it would be just as easy to take a lower mileage spedo out of another cluster and install it and say it's the origional mileage. You could always use the cable from the trans to the spedo in an aftermarket mileage counter, or just mount the spedo in a hidden location where it still keeps track of actual miles traveled.. Just an idea

A lot of the Hot Rod Boat guys use these and I seen a bunch of them in the new big go-fast boats at the Boat Show I went to in Lake Havasu a couple of months back... One of my buddies here in town uses them in his boats and says they work great, but if you get in some deep canyons where they can't see the satellites then they don't work so well...

I'm not "Brand Loyal" Ford-Chevy-Dodge-Toyota I have them all, one even cross mixed...
If it Looks good and Works good then it's ok by me. Everything has its issues from time to time...

Yeah, I can see that being the biggest problem. That or maybe big buildings in a down town environment.
