Here's the scenario: I had to replace the turn signal relay on my 69 the other day. Thanks Fordman for pointing out the location of the relay. I removed the gauge cluster to replace; I wanted to clean and check everything out while I was there. I found my volt meter disconnected. I thought that maybe it had come loose so I reconnected it. Then I replaced the signal relay and gave it a try with the cluster out of the dash. The blinkers worked like a champ but when the turn signals are off the relay continues to click and the volt meter jumps around very erratically. When I disconnected the volt meter again then everything worked fine. Any suggestions??? I looked for a short and found nothing.
Sorry. Out of my league. But didn't want you to think you were being ignored. One of the "experts" will chime in when they get a chance.
