Half a brake light?
I am having an issue with some wiring. My left rear tail lamp shows no brake light or turn signal. The fronts and the right rear all work correctly. The left rear only works for tail lights. I have replaced the bulb with new ones, and have even traced the yellow/black striped wire finding no issues. The wiring diagrams on this site show a 70 and a 72, so I mainly used the 70 diagram. My instincts tell me it could be the turn signal switch, but the left front works fine, and the complete right side works fine. Since my auto-cancellation feature on my turn signals don't work anyway, I figured I will someday need to replace the TSS. But I figured I could live with cancelling my turn signals manually for awhile. Having two brake lights are my main concern. Any ideas where to look now???

Re: Half a brake light?
That is a common problem with the TSS the fronts are a seperate circuit from the rears in the TSS as it has to deactivate the brake light when using the turn signal. The contact for the left side is not working and that is why you don't have brake or turns there.
Here is a picture showing the contacts. but do double check the Yellow wire out of the column for power on both sided of the connector as the connection could just be bad there.

Re: Half a brake light?
Thanks Thunderfoot, I kinda thought so, but I wanted to confirm. Since a new TSS is only like 49 bucks, I think I will go ahead and order one. After it comes in, and the temp gets above 9 degrees, I'll put it in. If this doesn't fix it, I'll let you know.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

You can also just replace the Cam for them also, you would need to pull the steering wheel to tell which part of the TSS is bad, if it was just the cam they are about $17. http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detai ... &ppt=C0039. I do like using a new TSS but some of these new replacements are pretty cheesy and others have had problems with them...
If your going that rout and not in a hurry watch Ebay, I found a NOS fomoco one on there for $45 a year ago to put in my highboy.

Re: Half a brake light?
LMC has one for $49. I've read that people have had issues with the one from Dennis Carpenter's, so I was not going to order from them...
