Hi Folks,
Can someone educate me on how one would apply a 4-link suspension to a '67? Are there any that are bolt in that work with a rear leaf spring suspension or must one change to airbags?
If there are some bolt on applications, please send a link if possible.
Thanks!
Evan

Okay, I think I figured out how these things work. A 4-link suspension would be used with a coil spring or coil over shock suspension.
Anyone know about a kit specifically made for a '67 F100? I found a universal kit by Total Cost Involved.
Thanks for all your patience as I learn this stuff.

I plan to do this to my Truck,(Did it to my Mustang) but from what I know you dont have to use Air Bags. You'll use Coil Over Springs, you'll have to weld in a cross member in Front and behind the rear. One is for the Coil Overs(Rear of Axle) and then one in Front of the Axle to mount/weld the 4-link to, then you have to have it welded to your rear end houseing..

re: 4-link suspension
I don't know that much either about this topic, but I'd imagine that kits would be available for the more popular condidates like the Camaro or Mustang. However, I kinda doubt a specific kit for a '67-'72 Ford pickup is available, since not enough people do this to these trucks to make it cost-effective for a company to have a ready-made kit for it.
I was watching an episode of one of the new car-shows on SpikeTV (I don't recall which one) and there was a short discussion of these, and I learned that there are actually two similar but different types....there's a four-link, and a four-bar. The four-link is less expensive but a little larger, so there might be fitment problems as compared to a four-bar setup. Here's some links to check out:

I'd also spend some time searching through and reading the Suspension - Brakes - Steering section of the HotRodders.com bulletin board. You'll pick up a lot of good info there.
Another thought: I was reading an article in the Sept. issue of Car Craft which has an article about a '55 Chebby with a 4-link suspension, which had the following line by the owner: "We did use 3/4" spherical rod-ends in the suspension to limit deflection, rather than urethane-bushed ends, which would be more street-friendly. The spherical joints must be replaced every few months if the car is street-driven, so we consider them sacrificial parts". I just thought that was noteworthy.
