Tape is the worst thing you can use. The manufacturers will specifically tell you not to use it on electrical sensors because it can insulate the sensor and cause eroneous readings. Always use a liquid sealer that will allow metal to metal contacts between the sender and the hole it is installed in. Hawkrod

Sounds like that's a good one. Says it's good for oil sensors, so I'm sure it'll be fine for coolant (which I guess falls under "intake manifold switches), too. PTFE is the generic name for Teflon.
