My turn signals have stopped working. The wiring harness is a newer painless system. The fuse is fine and all brake/tail lights are still functioning. I have a Centech wiring harness and the indicators do not flash do not flash on the dash cluster.
How do I switch out the turn signal switch in the column? PLEASE keep in mind I am a newbie and not too mechanically inclined so any diagrams would help. I have tried to search for an exploding diagram to make it easier. I figured out how to get the steering wheel off but not sure what I am looking at/ what to do from there.
Any help would be appreciated

Re: Turn Signals
remove the plug from the wiring coming out of the bottom of the column and save it.
tie a heavy not thick string onto the wires coming out of the column.
remove the horn ring button or pad
remove the steering wheel
unscrew the turn signal lever
remove the bolts from the tss and then pull the tss out o the column. this will drag the string up into the column. once the string gets to the top untie it and retie it to the new switch. and pull the wires back down into the column. reassemble everything.
to put the plug back onto the new wiring you have to remove the pins from the plastic plug and put the new wiring and pins into the old plug.
i may not have every single thing in there. this is just what i can remember at the moment.

Re: Turn Signals
I changed my switch recently. It's a pain in the differential. Make sure that the switch is at fault before you remove it.
Also, you need a special tool to remove the steering wheel. I borrowed one, don't know the cost.

Re: Turn Signals
I forgot to mention that the dash display for the signals isnt working either
Re: Turn Signals
The dash display won't work unless the rest of the turn unit is working. I'm not familiar with the "painless" wire thing you mentioned. Somehow it seems to be a "pain" though. Check every connection that has anything to do with the signals. Including the big connector the feeds into the gauge panel.drgil wrote:I forgot to mention that the dash display for the signals isnt working either
Do the 4-ways work?

Re: Turn Signals
Perhaps the turn signal flasher unit is bad?
