Post by gearhead »

I'll be in the Atlanta /North GA area this week and would like to find some good salvage yards. I'm not afraid to drive for a good yard. Any you'd recommend?

Try the Atlanta South pull-a-part lot. There is not much in the east or north lots as far as bumps go.

Here's the BEST place to go if you're looking for OLD Ford truck stuff, etc in north Georgia.

Collins, Auburn, GA. 770-963-2650. Mr. Collins is very fair, and he will let you wander around. Mostly 70's cars, but he does have a good supply of 60's trucks, and vans. Including International's, Dodges, and Fords. In the far back he has about 40 pre 1970 cars including a 4dr Hudson, some 50's Buicks and Oldsmobiles, and a couple 50's Fords. He has a decent supply of mopars.

Directions from Atlanta: go north on I-85 to the GA Hwy 211 exit (at Chateau Elan), go south on 211 for 0.3 miles. turn right on GA Hwy 124. turn left on Dee Kennedy Road. At the four way stop, turn right on Harmony Grove Church Road, turn right on Blackstock Road.
