web site banner

i am wanting to make a static web site header banner for use on ebay. i want a banenr sized block to use as the header for my auction. i would liek to upload pictures i have of parts trucks into the banner. i am unsure on background color right now. maybe soemthign in a blue. but it depends on how it looks with the pictures of the parts trucks. i found a site the other night and was plyign with it but the site want working properly or something. can anyone help guide me to do what i want to do? i think ryan made one for his signature once. how did you make the banner again. i know how you edited your photos. that will probably be the easy part for me. how was the banner made though? do i have to make a html box and then have links to pictures that i haev stored online in photo bucket? or is there a way to just make it all intot photo or what?
