NEED Opinions - 69 Crew Cab Short Bed

Post by socalcraigster »

2nd Owner (for 20 yrs) is willing to sell this 1969 and I am fixing to buy it. :D

He said it is a F350 but the badge said 250 - so I need to verify.

I took some pictures and put them up on YouTube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkXlZ-cAM7c

It had a 360/4speed but he had it professionally changed over to 429/C6.

Interior is complete and in fair shape, has A/C, PS and manual brakes.

I couldn't find any rust.

He told me to make him an offer.

What would you offer/buy for this vehicle for?

Regards!

When someone tells me to "make an offer" I usaully tell them not to get offended and start low. If they get offended I'll tell them to tell me what they want for it. You can always negotiate it up to what he want but never back down. I would start around 800-1000. But thats me. Also depends on how bad you want it  . Good luck, looks like a nice rig  .

I would start around $500-$800 just to see what he says. Like Doug said, you can always go up from there so don't offer too high to start out. Looks great though, good luck!

When it comes to bumpside crew cabs short bed = F250 and long bed = F350.

Go for it ... crew cabs are the best!

if the interior is good...2500 to 3 would be fair...just too rare around these parts if its in decent shape
especially if the motor/trans were done good..thats a g's work at least right there

I have a feeling you'll be in the 3k range, although my judgement is tainted by the fact that it's a 4k dollar truck all day in my neck of the woods. :2cents:

It is pretty hard to offer an opinion without better pictures and pictures of the interior and engine...

I'll say this though, if it were mine and you offered $500.00 for it I'd tell you to get off my property and you wouldn't be able to buy it at any price... Maybe I'm funny that way though...

I feel like if a man won't give you a price, just says make an offer then he really has no right to get mad if the offer is low.
Is that a short bed in the video? I have a long bed but that doesn't look as long as a long bed or short as a short bed. Might just be me or the pictures. Looks pretty solid and straight. Make a nice truck

I would offer $2,000 and be willing to pay up $3,500 depending upon condition. I like the wheels which add value over stock. PS and AC add value. Is AC R12 or R134a? Better tires, interior and paint add value. Will the truck need any of these items fixed and at what cost? The transplanted engine and tranny and no PB detract from value IMO. If you plan or need more stopping power you can install a hydroboost system. What is condition of the brakes and when were they last changed? Which 429 was used and what was done to the C6 and engine? Was the clutch pedal removed? What shifter was installed? And where? What do the floor panels look like beneath? How about the headliner? Carpeted or vinyl on floor? Start pricing at $3500 and subtract the cost of making repairs to your level of comfort to arrived at price.
