a flat bed for the F750

Post by dolinick »

I am planning on getting my F750 registered soon and have started looking at flatbeds on craigslist.

I need to take some measurements but was considering this 12 foot flatbed or something similar:

I had better call them to see if it's still available.

If you're going to have a flat bed and have the option of a dump bed for $300, WHY NOT. lol

Mine as about that long when I got it and I just cut it down to fit my needs.

I'd go for the first one, in fact I'm looking for one myself. Finding a dump truck in your vintage with the right tranny to steal the PTo out of may be a problem.

I called the first guy and found out the one in the photos. The frame he'd take 350 but 400 for a diamond plate one. That's good news because the flat bed is actully less than what the ad said.

The other guy (older ad march 28th i think) said he sold his dump bed but has another BETTER one for $600.

It would be nice if you could locate a 12' Ford "script" bed. Like one of these. They are found on Fords from the 30s to the 70s.

Suppose you could always get a 12v electric hydraulic pump to run the dump bed too....
