was unloading and walked into it today and omg ,.. when i first got t he truck i walked into it so fast i got a a melon sore on my shin. and i can still feel a dent in my shin...

i've done it once, but "the latch" is the worst

But on my truck in particular (the racer), i have a secondary door latch that is a sharp half circle shape on the edge of the door. If you get out of my truck while skimming the door you will get stabbed.

Been there, done that, several times. Last time I did it I was walking thru a parking lot and cracked my leg on a drop hitch on some idiot's Trailblazer. I managed ( with superhuman effort ) to resist the impulse to pull the hitch and throw it thru aforementioned idiot's windshield.

Did it on a 1997 F-250. We used it to pull our horse trailer, walked into it like it was not there... I can say I feel your pain.

ive done it on my dads F250 but not my truck. My dad was sitting at a light in miami one day and a pedestrian walked behind his truck really fast and hit his triple hitch so hard it shook his truck. he called up my mom and told her that he was hit by a pedestrian . she freaked out and thought he had hit someone. but she figured it out later

My truck has no front bumper either, and I've ran into the frame horns a few times too.

That's a good practice to do.
But in some areas of the country the annual salt bath makes that almost impossible, if it's been rusted in for a while.

I've had to" heat and beat" a few out before.
If it has a hollow tube mount you can cut it off then split it with a torch and air chisel the pieces out .
That way you can save the receiver, but if it's the solid shank, it's a big hammer and/or a chain with a stout tree.
or buy a new hitch.

Ive walked into them so many times ive lost count, the one that made me the madest was little rice burner with a hitch sticking out about a foot off the ground. i was in a hurry and it got me good in the middle of the shin. i pulled the hitch and slung it under their car.

ball hitch to the shin is a fairly regular thing - no big deal.

Bill's car trailer has tail light housings that stick out at kneecap level - that one hurts.

I barely scraped my hitch once, but I've hit others before many times. One time a bunch of us were hanging around the parking lot after work, and one of the office girls walked right into my hitch. It was kind of funny, but I felt bad.

I've hit the hood latch before too. ouch.
