Got the gasket set and valve springs a few days back.

The valve springs are http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FMS-M-6513-A50/

Cleaned up one of the heads, and painted it.

Also got the brake booster brackets from Ryan (1971Ford)

So today I put the valves back in, and installed the new springs and valve stem seals.

Now for more pics.

Finished, still need to clean the rocker arms up tho.

Valve cover plans

Currently my valve covers look like this

Image

I plan to paint them the same blue as the heads, and then paint the lettering and box red or black.

I am not sure if the 429/460 valve covers ever had this style script but I like it better

I have a set of headers to go on that will feed into 2 1/5" pipe with a H-pipe feeding into two of these http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MPE-10416/

Another update..

Cleaning up the intake manifold. I used a Scotchbrite pad and some PB blaster on one side. The pics are of each side, but you get the idea of the before and after.

Just have been messing around with the screw in water jacket plugs for now.

After that is squared away it is on to the other cylinder head and start putting it all together.

Only hold up right now is the shift arm I need for the transmission.

Maybe around mid March Ill have it in the truck!

Today I started on the other head. The pics are of it with the peliminary cleaning done. Head is stripped bare except for the ground strap. Chased all the bolt holes.

The to do list for this head...

Lap valves
Grind smog bumps down
Install new valve springs and stem seals.
Paint
