Ignition Switch Diagram Needed

On my 72 F100, it will only run continuous while ignition switch turned to start. Engine dies when it goes back to the "on" position. Suspect ignition switch but can't find any diagrams of what the six (6) pins go to on the back of the switch after I removed it from the truck. Does anyone have an idea which goes to which? I know one is hot all of the time, one goes to on, one to start, etc., but I don't know which is which. Therefore, hard to troubleshoot to see if switch is bad or I am chasing a fault elsewhere. Any help greatly appreciated. The Clymer manual I have has no diagrams whatsoever.

Could be the ignition switch OR your perhaps ballast resistor is open.

Electricty from the key flows through a small resistor so that the points/coil does not actually get a full 12 volts. (saves on point wear)
When the key is turned to Start/Crank this resistor is bypassed and a full 12 volts is delivered to the coil to make a hot spark to ensure starting.

I had the same thing happen to me, my problem turned out to be a bad starter solenoid. Its easy to check for this, there are two slip on wires connected to the solenoid. The one closest to the fire wall is the one you want to remove, once you have disconnected it see if it will start. If it does you need a new solenoid. Just my on this. If what I am talking about is about as mud, please ask for a better explination and I'll do my best to make it clearer.

thats wierd. removing the brown wire from the relay cuts off giving the coil a full 12 volts when it is in start mode.
