found $200 truck not sure on all details

Engines dead in the sport custom, Been offered a 200.00 truck, And i need info on what to checkout when he says its a new rebuilt crate motor and trans, but it won't turn over.


Anything he may have missed when putting it all together?

Well if you get absolutely nothing when you turn the key, then its probably a wiring issue. If it sounds like the starter is trying to turn that there is an issue with the motor. Could be locked up or something is getting in the way of the flywheel turning or something like that. But shoot for $200 I would think you could make it work. If you don't want I will take it :D

all of our trucks have issues, but we still love to see her the next day.

Key switch, battery, starter, spark, fuel, if the first one works move to the next. Also try removing a plug and manually turing it over at least then you know he didn't run it out of oil. If its been siting awhile check the fuel filter. And if it has saddle tanks make sure the switch is in the right position

I had the same affliction for several decades, kept dragging home more $200 cars instead of putting the $$ into cars I already had. Spend the 200 getting that crew cab going or on your daily driver.
