70 Custom--It's HOME
Ryan's Responsible---Fordification's Responsible ,can't sit and wait any longer than, I have. What better P.T for my shoulder, than turn in wrenches
and Startin The Project:
The Shop---small confines for this gig
Few of the recent tool scores
Plenty of room--when its empty
Now comes the fun part---Fitting the truck
Sorry for pic size---me and PHbcket aren't clickin right now
As you can see--runnin out of room fast
And heres a few shots of 360--- it runs--but its turning into a 390
Starting this week---disassemble front clip, back the truck out and bring it in backwards to remove box and get rolling dollie welded up for it. Seems that I have room limitations---everythings got to be on wheels---lotta jocky'n around, but ya do what ya gotta do

re: 70 Custom--The Fun Begins
Looks like you got a good truck to start with. I know how you feel with the lack of space issue. I have two trucks and only one side of our two car garage to work with and my '68 barely fits in. Thats why were moving to 5 or so acres and a 40' X 60' shop so I might actually be able to start the frame off on the '72. Good luck and keep us posted!!

Honestly, I really would rather push a Ford than drive a Chevy.

At the end of day 2
I'll leave the bulk of project pic's in photobucket---but I now what kind of junkies you guys are. This is the rolling bed dolly,I welded up yesterday
My lifting set up
Rolled right out---no problems
The rest of project pictures(A LOT)can be seen http://s267.photobucket.com/albums/ii30 ... 20project/
Thing are going good and I'm sticking to my plan---remove all body part and make'm mobile.
Engine and tranny--will come out, once this is done---motor-on engine stand--tranny is getting replaced.
Frame first---clean and POR(or eastwood product) after removing suspension parts and other stuff. The list goes on----and THERE'S ALONG WAYS--TO GO

re: 70 Custom--The Fun Begins
Sorry no pics on this one Mon--engines out/on the stand, tranny and driveshaft's are out.Exhaust and E brake cables(soaking in used motor oil)
are removed along with TL harness and brake lines. Suspension parts have been sprayed with PB(todays task)and hopefully they'll give way. I'm gettin really close,to starting in the other direction with this project.

re: 70 Custom--The Fun Begins
Alotta First's for me this week
Never before in my life have I disassembled front end
Nor have I ever taken a rear end out
Or disassembled rearend--heres a pic of it before I pulled brakes, axle shafts and took the "guts" out of it
Started with the rear(no magor changes)of the truck, painting inside&backside of brake housing(?)and the face of the drums.Picked up all new brake parts(as long as its on the bench)and ended up going with "Chassis Saver"(my buddie swears by it)as opposed to POR or eastwood(they were out until?)system for rust proofing frame.I have painted rearend, shackles and frame up past front shackle perch with it so far.SCORE---box of Polyurethane bushings came with 67 from PO--kit includes FlexOmatic shackle bushings and cab blocks Pic's to come
as I reassemble.

Holt tamlies your speeding though the disassembly leaves lots of time for reassembly. I wish I had a garage now.

re: 70 Custom--The Fun Begins
Well my shoulder is getting better(RC surgery2/1)and it won't be long before I go back to work.So then progress will slow down, but for now my truck keeps me busy---heres what I've cleaned up and painted
This trick stayed fresh in my mind----THX for whoever posted it
I used the urethane bushings(out of the kit--67parts truck Xtra)up getting flex-O-matic back together and have to wait for NPD order now
Plans for this week---rear reassembled to frame, finish cleaning and painting frame-roll chassis out(find somewhere to store it )and clean shop-organize parts and tools--again. Start motor project--360/390
