What should the gap on the points be for a 390 2bbl? 4 speed manual.

0.17 or a matchbook cover thickness

I just got this truck and its been awhile since I have worked on a carb and points vehicle!! I used to help my dad when I was a kid. YRS ago. I love to tinker with old trucks. This is my first true ford truck! I had a 2003 with the V6 but had to get rid of it due to it cost to much in cali.

Would the gap be any different for the same engine with a four barrel?

i think it would be the same. i threw my book across the room because it was in my way. it went down behind the desk so i cant look it up until i move all the parts and the desk too.

If you can get your hands on a dwell angle meter it's much more acurate
