I have a 97 dodge ram, I know, please no comments, anyway, it would not start the other day, put a new coil wire on it started fine for one day, now it won't start again, could it be a bad coil, and what is the coil pickup in the distributor do.

i dont know what the pickup does but. i know if it goes bad it wont start. i had to replace one on a olds once because someone had there finger in there and pulled the wire out of it.

figured it out, it was arcin up a storm under the hood just above the dist cap
