Sunpro tach installed and added blue LED's to it..Pix

Post by tuff4rd »

If you guys have been thinking about getting a tach, I would recommend this one. It is of good quality and the price is right  Very simple install and works perfect. Here are some pix of my install & I added blue led's to match my dash.

tuff4rd,

Nice work!
I had to put a tach in my one ton right after I bought it, (4.11 gears really crank on the engine and I don't like beating on her).

Got a part number for the blue Led's?

Thanks  I have the smaller of the 2 super tachII's, the one I have takes these bulbs http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 0170938766
If you have the bigger tach, I think it takes a 194 bulb. Im assuming you have a Sunpro tach?

Mine was a disaster. None of the lights worked, the gauges were suspect, it was hazy and all the chrome had flecked off. I had mice in the cab, and they had gotten on top of the instrument cluster making a mess. When I took it apart, the mask was rusting on the bottom, and when I went to dust it off with an air gun, paint came off in huge flakes. I had to sand down the mask, and paint it, and replaced the bezel, lens, circuit board, sockets, and bulbs with LEDs.

Here are a couple of pictures of the end result:

Sorry - I wasn't trying to hijack the thread. I was excited to have an answer to a question for once! :)
